Day 2 of ED raid: Dramatic moments at Bineesh Kodiyeri's house in Kerala

Bineesh Kodiyeri's relatives protest in front of his residence where ED conducted raid on Thursday
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Dramatic moments ruled the second day of raid by enforcement directorate (ED) sleuths at the residence of Bineesh Kodiyeri, who is under arrest in Bengaluru in connection with a drug case.
Immediate family members of Bineesh Kodiyeri alleged that the enforcement officials denied their basic rights and emotionally tortured them. The issue began with Bineesh’s wife refusing to sign the Mahassar after completing the raid on Thursday morning, as she alleged that the officials had planted the credit card owned by Anoop Muhammed, who is being cited as the benami of Bineesh, at the residence and then seized it.

Bineesh's wife said that the officials threatened her that unless she signs the Mahassar, Bineesh would not be out of trouble soon. “They have not got anything from my residence and all they have taken is the IPhone of my mother. I told them that even if I go to jail I will not sign the Mahassar as I have not seen this credit card before they showed it to me,” Bineesh’s wife said. She said that the ED officials also said that unless she signs the document, they will not allow her out of the house. Bineesh is neither a don nor a boss of anyone but a normal human being, she said.
Anoop Muhammed, who is in the custody of ED in Bengaluru, had stated that Bineesh was his boss, and he was only running Bineesh’s business.
Other relatives of Bineesh, including his mother’s sister protested outside the house that the officials were not allowing them to meet her daughter and grandchild. The relatives complained to the Poojappura police as well as the Kerala police commission for protection of child rights. Police officials as well as the rights commission chairman reached the residence and tried to intervene, when the ED officials ended the raids and left, after 26 hours. His relatives also alleged that except for less than an hour, the officials were spending time inside the house without any job and the whole matter was to give a feeling outside that some major action was going on inside the house.
Meanwhile, the police stopped the ED officials and asked them about the details of the officials who were part of the ED raid. The ED officials are learnt to have shared the details of the officials with the police.
