DUBLIN (AP) _ Prothena Corp. (PRTA) on Wednesday reported a loss of $30.6 million in its third quarter.

On a per-share basis, the Dublin-based company said it had a loss of 77 cents.

The results did not meet Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of three analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for a loss of 68 cents per share.

The drug developer posted revenue of $157,000 in the period, which also did not meet Street forecasts. Three analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $533,000.

Prothena shares have declined 12% since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Wednesday, shares hit $13.94, a climb of 49% in the last 12 months.
