Food operators vow to maintain quality

Food operators of the region vowed to take preventive measures and adopt standard procedure of manufacturing and handling food items.

An oath was taken in response to a call made by senior functionaries of the Health and Food Safety Department led by District Health Officer Rajesh Garg and Sangrur Food Safety Officer Sandeep Kumar during a special awareness campaign launched under Tandrusat Punjab Mission on the occasion of festival season.

Food operators also asked their family members to ensure that food safety norms were followed at their homes as well.

Food operators led by former councilor Deepak Sharma and Chanan Chaudhary, office bearers of Sweetmeat Makers Association led the operators. DHO Ludhiana Dr Rajesh Garg and FSO Sangrur Sandeep Kumar claimed that over 100 entrepreneurs had updated their knowledge related to various aspects of preparation of food items and its handling with special focus on guidelines on prevention of spread of Covid-19 during the festival season.
