Wales have dropped down to No 8 in the official World Rugby rankings following a disappointing Six Nations campaign where they finished fifth.
The Welsh briefly held the No 1 spot in August 2019 and ended the year at No 4 after a fourth-place finish at the Rugby World Cup.
However, their 14-10 loss to Scotland in Llanelli over the weekend marked a fifth consecutive defeat under coach Wayne Pivac and sees them drop below the Scots in the rankings.
Meanwhile, France moved up to fourth after a 35-27 win against Ireland in Paris.
The world champion Springboks remain atop the standings on 94.20 points, although the All Blacks' 43-5 win against the Wallabies in Sydney saw them move from 91.12 rankings points to 91.84.
