BJP slams Mah govt over Maratha reservation

BJP slams Mah govt over Maratha reservation

Nagpur, Nov 4 (UNI) State Bharatiya Janata Party president Chandrakant Patil on Wednesday hit out at the Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray-led Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) government, saying this government is playing politics by 'dividing' the OBCs and the Maratha community by not taking a firm stand on Maratha reservation.

Mr Patil, who was on a visit to Vidarbha region, told media that all the three parties in the MVA government have differences over Maratha reservation. They are working to create a rift between OBCs and Marathas.

"We kept the reservation of OBC and Maratha community separate and upheld it in the court in our regime," the BJP leader said.

However, the MVA government is not taking any concrete stand on the issue. As a result, there is confusion in both the societies, he alleged.

The BJP leader also said that the state government is neglecting farmers, while pointing out other issues like the inflated electricity bills and COVID-19 situation in the state and added his party will raise these issues in the winter session of the state legislature slated on December 7.
