The Alibaug Police on Wednesday arrested Editor-in-Chief and Managing Director of Republic Media Network Arnab Goswami for abetment to suicide in a 2018 case.
After the news of his arrest, Bollywood actor Kangana Ranaut has now addressed it and in a video posted on Instagram and has sent out a message for the Maharashtra government.

In the video, Kangana took a dig at the Maharashtra government and said, "Maharashtra government you arrested Arnab Goswami today, beat him ou, pulled his hair, and assaulted him. How many more houses will you break? How many voices will you stop? Sonia Sena, how many will you shut up? We will continue to speak and fight."
In another tweet, Kangana also wrote, "Pappupro ko gussa kyun aata hai? Penguins ko gussa kyun aata hai? Sonia sena ko itna gussa kyun aata hai?Arnab sir let them pull your hair and assault you for the cause of free speech greats before us got hanged with smiles on their faces,Aazadi ka karz chukana hai."
For the uninformed, Goswami was charged under Section 306 and Section 34 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). Earlier in the day, police conducted a raid at Arnab's residence and took him to the Raigad Police station.
The case in question is from 2018 of 53-year-old interior designer Anvay Naik and his mother Kumud Naik who had committed suicide in May that year in Alibaug. According to the Live Hindustan report, a suicide note was found after the incident, which was allegedly written by Anvay. In this suicide note, he said that Arnab Goswami and two others did not pay him Rs 5.40 crore, due to which he faced a financial crisis.
