New Delhi, Nov 4 (UNI) Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Prakash Javadekar on Wednesday held the Punjab state government responsible for the current situation in the state, saying that Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh dispensation failed to convince the farmers and pacify the situation.

In a press conference here after the meeting of the Union Cabinet, Mr Javadekar said that the movement of trains at 32 places in Punjab is still stalled as the tracks are not empty.

He said that the Central Government wants to start rail service in the interest of the country, but the responsibility of law and order is that of the state government, in which it has completely failed.

"It is the responsibility of the state government to protect the trains and the people driving them", the Minister averred.

He said that due to non-running of trains, the Army is also having difficulty in sending military equipment in the winter season, so the state government should discharge its responsibility and maintain law and order situation so that trains can move.
