60 new COVID-19 cases, 72 recoveries in Meghalaya

Shillong, Nov 4 (UNI) Meghalaya registered 60 new COVID-19 cases, taking active cases to 59 and 72 recoveries, surging the number of recoveries to 8,752 on Wednesday.
Of the fresh COVID-19 cases detected on Wednesday, Director of Health Services (MI), Dr. Aman War saud 25 from East Khasi Hills district, 13 from East Jaintia Hills district, seven from East Garo Hills district, six from West Garo Hills district, four from West Jaintia Hills district, two each from Ri-Bhoi district and South West Garo Hills district and one from West Khasi Hills district.
The new recoveries from the viral infection included 34 from East Khasi Hills district, 26 from West Garo Hills district, three each from East Garo Hills district, Ri-Bhoi district and West Jaintia Hills district, two from West Khasi Hills district and one from South West Garo Hills district, he said.
Meanwhile, the number of active cases in East Khasi Hills district, which includes State capital Shillong has further dropped down to 330, the latest health bulletin reported.
As on date, 2,05,879 persons in the State were tested for COVID-19 infection, of whom 1,96,078 came out negative, while 226 persons are in institutional quarantine and 456 in home quarantine, Dr. War said.
He said that 54, 985 persons from outside have entered the State.
Meghalaya has registered 9,801 confirmed COVID-19 cases, including 959 active cases, 90 deaths due to the viral infection with the case fatality rate being 0.92 and 8,752 cases of recovery.
