EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. (AP) _ SurModics Inc. (SRDX) on Wednesday reported a fiscal fourth-quarter loss of $2.9 million, after reporting a profit in the same period a year earlier.

The Eden Prairie, Minnesota-based company said it had a loss of 22 cents per share. Losses, adjusted for amortization costs, were 18 cents per share.

The drug delivery technology company posted revenue of $22.5 million in the period.

For the year, the company reported profit of $1.1 million, or 8 cents per share. Revenue was reported as $94.9 million.

SurModics shares have decreased slightly more than 7% since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Wednesday, shares hit $38.36, a drop of slightly more than 5% in the last 12 months.
