Woman dead after boat crashes into private jetty on Brisbane River

A woman has died after a boat carrying four people on the Brisbane crashed into a private jetty attached to a home in the city's south-west on Wednesday.

The crash happened about 4.40pm and police believe the vessel smashed into the private jetty at the rear of a house on Laurel Avenue in Chelmer, near the intersection with Jarrott Street.

The Queensland Ambulance Service said two adults were taken to the Princess Alexandra Hospital in stable conditions.

A child was also taken to the Queensland Children's Hospital in a stable condition, QAS said.

Multiple QAS units responded to the incident, including the specialist High Acuity Response Unit.

The police forensic crash unit is investigating the fatal crash.
