Stick to covid protocols to avert second wave of infection: Naveen

Bhubaneswar, Nov 4 (UNI) Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today appealed to people to strictly adhere to Covid protocols to avoid the second wave infection as witnessed in Kerala and Delhi.
Mr Patnaik who reviewed Covid containment activities in the State through a video conference, expressed satisfaction over the decline in the rate of Covid spike and increase in the recovery rate.
He, however, said there should not be complacence. adding that any negligence may invite further trouble.
The Chief Minister thanked the people of the State for observing Puja festivities with discipline and restraint.
He also highly praised the administration and the police for their role in the fight against Covid.
Mr Patnaik reiterated his request to observe Deepavali in the same spirit and directed the Covid observers to proceed to different districts to oversee Deepavali restrictions.
He also asked the Collectors along with the SPs for strict implementation of Covid related measures.
While emphasizing on keeping vigil over Post-Covid situation, Mr Patnaik directed the Health Department to prepare suitable protocol in this regard and suggested extensive training of doctors and health workers.
He directed continued livelihood programmes through MGNREGA, Mission Shakti and Urban Wage Employment Schemes and further reminded the Banks to provide credit facilities to Mission Shakti Groups, Farmers and MSMEs in time as advised in the last SLBC meeting.
