Fearing BJP's Vel Yatra will polarise the Tamil Nadu population and distract them to non-issues, left aligning parties and Dravidian outfits asked the government to deny permission to Yatra.
Chennai: DMK women wing secretary and Thoothukudi MP Kanimozhi launched salvos against BJP's planned Vel Yatra.
BJP playing the religious card, planned Vel Yatra for a month from November 6 to December 6 in condemnation against the obscene remarks against Lord Muruga by those aligning with Periyarist ideology. Though DMK distanced itself from remarks, but BJP and other right-wing outfits have extended their attacks against the Dravidian party.

Kanimozhi took a swipe in her Twitter handle saying that if BJP cares so much about 'Tamil God' Muruga, why not take steps to make Tamil the national language, mooted the MP.
