Asian markets closed mixed on Wednesday as traders tracked results of the US presidential election which at present is a close fight between current president Donald Trump and another presidential candidate Joe Biden.
Japanese Nikkei 225 closed on a bullish note, 1.72% higher. Taiwan Weighted also traded 1% higher while the Shanghai Composite and Strait Times also traded higher.
SGX Nifty, Hong Kong's Hang Seng, Set Composite and Jakarta Composite traded in the red.
Earlier, Asian markets opened higher led by the Japanese Nikkei, which was closed for a holiday on Tuesday & traded higher by nearly 400 points in early trade and closed on a similar note.
The higher volatility was on expected lines as election results trickled in during the day.
Brent Crude oil was trading flat at USD 39.72 per barrel at around 1.45 pm.
Meanwhile, the domestic indices are trading flat after a bullish start. BSE Sensex was trading at 40,283.81 up 22.68 points or 0.06%and Nifty50 at 11,815.05 up 1.55 points or 0.01%.
