Hyderabad: The Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) in a letter to the Chief Election Officer of Telangana and DGP alleged that some unscrupulous elements suspected to be BJP and TRS have been spreading rumours that party candidate Cheruku Srinivas Reddy is leaving the party. The Congress urged the authorities to investigate and take action on the culprits.

TPCC Chief N Uttam Kumar Reddy said that a video which has become viral is aimed at damaging the prospects of Congress in the ongoing bye-election in Dubbak. “The contents depicted in the video are far from the truth and Srinivas Reddy is an ethical and loyal Congress activist,” Uttam Kumar Reddy said. He added that the TV 9 channel whose logo was seen in the video has denied telecasting the video.

“We suspect that Harish Rao and Raghunandan Rao who are closely related may have been behind the fake video,” he said. Later addressing the media through a video conference he urged voters not to believe in such fake news.
