The Nifty Pharma index is up nearly 1% at 11,260.55 levels. The index opened at 11,214.60 and hit a high at 11,398.35 levels. Shares of Dr Reddy’s and Alkem Lab slipped on the pharma index, while Cadila surged 6% among top gainer.
Shares of
Cadila Healthcare zoomed after consolidated net profit soared 411% to Rs423.60cr on 16% jump in net sales to Rs3,762.30cr in Q2 September 2020 over Q2 September 2019.
Lupin shares also climbed 2%, Divis Lab, Torrent Pharma,
Sun Pharma, Cipla and Biocon trading higher in the pharma index.
Meanwhile, barometers held firm near the day’s high in the afternoon trade. Global stocks were positive as investors watched for U.S. election results.
The BSE Sensex is up 489 points or 1.23% at 40,247 and the Nifty jumped 133 points or 1.14% at 11,803.
