EDF Renewables has been awarded 12 solar photovoltaic power plants, representing a total capacity of 105 MW following the latest solar CRE 4.8 tender that has just been released. These new solar projects will be located in the regions of namely Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, Bourgogne-Franche-Comté, Centre-Val de Loire, Grand Est, Nouvelle-Aquitaine and Pays de la Loire. These solar power plants will be developed in close consultation with locally elected officials, landowners and local stakeholders. Their construction will start in 2021.

Those new ground-based PV power plants projects were awarded in the context of a strong competition, demonstrated by an average price of 57.4 EUR per MWh among the shortlisted projects, which represents a drop of 7.4 % in comparison with previous tenders, and indicates EDF Renewables’ ability to develop competitive projects.

EDF ENR, the EDF Group subsidiary specialised in developing solar self-supply projects, has won 9.4 MW, which increases global EDF group’s capacity won to more than 114 MW.
