Palghar Mob lynching case: 4 released on bail

Thane, Nov 3 (UNI) A Thane district court on Tuesday ordered the release the four accused including a man and his two sons, who had sought bail in the mob lynching case at Gadchinchale in Palghar district.
The District Judge (Special Mob lynching cases) PP Jadhav on Tuesday ordered the four to be released on a bail of Rs. 15,000 each.
Those who were released on bail include, Laxman Ramaji Jadhav (58) Nitin Laxman Jadhav (26), Manoj Laxman Jadhav (25) and Tukaram Rupji Sath (40), all residents of Hedpada of Gadchinchale.
They were among the nearly 200 who were arrested in the case in which three persons including two sadhus were lynched by an irate armed mob of villagers on the night of April 16, last on a suspicion that they were a child lifters and organ harvesters.
Advocate Amrut Adhikari appeared for the applicants and argued for their bail on the grounds that they were not not at all connected with the incidences. Their names do not not appear in the FIR or the first charge sheet he pointed out.

Panaji, Nov 3 (UNI) Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant has welecomed the approval of Dam Rehabilitation and Improvement Project (#DRIP) Phase II and Phase III by the Centre, and expressed hope that the new scheme would bring long lasting dam safety culture in India.
In a tweet, he said,'Government of Goa welcomes the approval of the Dam Rehabilitation and Improvement Project (#DRIP) Phase II and Phase III, approved by Government of India today with 19 States on board.'
'Hope this new Scheme would bring long lasting dam safety culture in India as well as Goa would be benefitted a lot in terms of safety, capacity building and better health of our water asset. Goa is a partner in this new DRIP Phase II & Phase III with rehabilitation provision for 2 dams at budget outlay of ₹ 58 Cr. It is a timely step by Govt of India to assist concerned States to ensure longer life of these water asset,' he said.
