Stock market update: BSE Consumer Durables index up 1%; Titan climbs 3%

NEW DELHI: S&P BSE Consumer Durables index was trading on a positive note at 01:34PM (IST) on Tuesday.

Shares of Crompton (up 3.0 per cent), Titan Company Ltd (up 2.75 per cent), Orient Electric (up 1.53 per cent), Rajesh Exports (up 1.13 per cent) and Blue Star (up 1.09 per cent) were among the top gainers.

While Sheela Foam (down 1.3 per cent), Voltas (down 0.92 per cent) and TTK Prestige (down 0.5 per cent) were the top losers in the index.

The S&P BSE Consumer Durables index was trading 1.67 per cent up at 24402.77 around 01:34PM.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 140.60 points at 11809.75, while the BSE Sensex was up 500.2 points at 40257.78.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 35 were trading in the green, while 14 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, NTPC, Tata Motors and Ashok Leyland were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Cadila Health, Tanla Solutions, Adani Gas Ltd., Blue Dart Exp and Havells India hit their fresh 52 week high in today's trade, while Panth Infinity Ltd., A & M Febcon Ltd., Vikas Proppant & Granite Ltd., Helpage Finlease Ltd., Ishaan Infrastructures & Shelters Ltd., Primuss Pipes & Tubes Ltd., Advik Capital Ltd., Stephanotis Finance Ltd., Neil Industries Ltd. and GE Power India Ltd. hit fresh 52 week low in trade.
