India has achieved another feat in the fight against the Kovid-19 epidemic. The Union Health Ministry said on Tuesday that the number of patients under treatment of COVID-19 in the country has come down to 5.5 lakhs, which is only 6.55 percent of the patients infected so far while more than 76 lakh people have been cured.
The ministry said that the decrease in the number of under-treated patients was made possible by the rapid increase in the number of patients recovering. The Ministry of Health underlined that 76,03,121 patients have been cured so far, which is 7,061,716 more than the patients under treatment. With this, the recovery rate of patients with coronavirus in the country has reached 91.96 percent.
The ministry said that the number of new cases coming up daily has come down to 40,000, and on Tuesday, 38,30 more people were confirmed infected. The ministry said that due to the recovery of a large number of COVID-19 patients daily, the mortality rate is also decreasing continuously. The ministry underlined that the number of underrepresented patients in India is rapidly decreasing.
The Ministry informed that 58,323 Kovid-19 patients have been cured in the last 24 hours, out of which 80 percent of patients are confined in 10 states and union territories. In Maharashtra, the epidemic was defeated by more than 10,000 patients in 24 hours while Karnataka was second with more than 8000 patients recovering.
The ministry said that 74 percent of the new cases reported on Tuesday are from 10 states and union territories. Kerala, Delhi, and Maharashtra topped the list of newly infected cases with more than 4000–4000 patients whereas West Bengal reported over three thousand cases.
The Union Health Ministry said that in the last 24 hours, 49 people have lost their lives due to the epidemic, out of which 80 percent of deaths are limited in 10 states and union territories. Maharashtra has the highest number of deaths of 1,04 patients in the last 24 hours. In India, the death rate from COVID-19 has fallen to 1.49 percent.
According to the updated data released by the Ministry of Health at eight o'clock on Tuesday morning, 82,67,623 people have been confirmed to be infected with the coronavirus so far in the country with 38,330 new cases, while in the last 24 hours, the country has been reported to have died of 466 people. The number of people who lost their lives in the epidemic has reached 1,23,097.
