Toyota Innova Touring Sport Removed From Website: Special Edition MPV Discontinued?

The company is yet to officially announce the reason behind discontinuing the Innova Touring Sport in the country. However, we expect that it could be removed, as the company gears up for the arrival of the Toyota Innova Crysta facelift next year in India.

The Innova Touring Sport feature a more aggressive and sporty look as compared to the standard model. Most trims that were finished in chrome on the standard model, were blacked-out on the Touring Sport MPV.

Changes on the front include a blacked-out grille along with smoked headlamps. The MPV also featured a blacked-out all-around body cladding. At the rear, there was a thick black strip which connected tail lamps on either side along with stuff plates.

At the side, the Touring Sport featured blacked-out alloy wheels along with blacked out ORVMS and side skirts. The window-line of the Touring Sport model was blacked out, adding to the aggressive looks of the MPV. It was offered in two colours: Wildfire Red and Pearl White.

The Touring Sport's interior featured the same layout and equipment as the standard model. However, the sporty theme was carried into the cabin with all-black interiors, seat upholstery, instrument console and more. The faux wood on the dash came in burgundy-red while the wood on the top of the steering was finished in black.

The Innova Touring Sport was offered with two engine options: the 2.7-litre petrol and the 2.4-litre diesel engine options. The petrol engine produced a maximum of 164bhp and a peak torque of 245Nm. While the 2.4-litre diesel unit churned out 148bhp and 360Nm of peak torque. Both engines were offered with either a five-speed manual or a six-speed torque-converter automatic.

The Toyota Innova Crysta retailed at a starting price of Rs 19.53 lakh, ex-showroom (India). This made the Torurin Sport model Rs 53,000 expensive than its standard model counterpart. The top-spec diesel ZX AT model was priced at Rs 24.67 lakh, ex-showroom (India).

The Toyota Innova Touring Sport model catered to buyers, who were looking for a sporty-looking MPV in the Indian market. However, the company has now removed the MPV from its website and could launch again with a few updates at a later date.
