As many as 286 polling booths were set up for polling in Marwahi assembly constituency. Webcasting of 29 polling stations was also done. According to information 72.80% polling was recorded at polling centre in Jogisar which constitutes the highest number of voters in the constituency while 93.84% voters’ turn-out was recorded in Khamli Khurd polling centre. About a dozen EVM machines stopped working and they were replaced later.
The by-election was held in this seat due to the demise of Janta Congress supremo and former Chief Minister Ajit Jogi. Since Janta Congress has not fielded any candidate on this seat, the election is witnessing direct contest between the ruling Congress and the main opposition party BJP. However, the election has turned interesting on this seat especially after Janta Congress announced its support to BJP three days ago.
