Decline in export by 5.4 pc during October

New Delhi, Nov 3 (UNI) Amid the unstable condition of the international market due to the COVID-19 situation, the export by India in the month of October was reduced by 5.4 per cent and came down to 24.82 billion Dollars, which was 26.23 billion Dollars in October, 2019.
The Ministry of Commerce and Industry gave this information through the data released on Tuesday here.
From April to October, the total exports fell down by 19.05 per cent.
Talking of imports, in October, the total import fell by 11.56 per cent and was recorded at 33.6 billion Dollars. In October 2019, the total import was worth 37.99 billion Dollars.
In the current financial year, the total import fell by 36.28 per cent, and was recorded at 182.29 billion Dollars, while the same was at 286.07 billion Dollars in the previous year.
Trade deficit declined by 25.34 per cent to 8.78 billion Dollars in the month under review. This figure was 11.76 billion Dollars in the same period, during the previous year.
