Haryana govt received around Rs 258 cr more revenue from levies collection: Dy CM

Chandigarh, Nov 3 (UNI) Haryana Deputy Chief Minister Dushyant Chautala on Tuesday said the state government has received around Rs 258 crore more revenue from the levies collection up to the second quarter of current Financial Year 2020-21, as compared to the previous year.
An amount of Rs 37,61,79,18,041 has been received as levies during the current Financial Year 2020-21 from April 1, 2020, till date, while an amount of Rs 35,03,93,27,587 was received during the previous year from April 1, 2019, to September 30, 2019.

Mr Chautala was presiding over a review meeting of the Excise and Taxation Department here. Principal Secretary, Excise and Taxation Department, Anurag Rastogi, among other senior officers, were present during the meeting.

Mr Chautala said that up to the second quarter of this Financial Year 2020-21, Additional Excise Duty amounting to Rs 67,21,08,323 was received, while it was Rs 93,150 during the previous Policy Year 2019-20.
In addition, the Assessment Fee amounting to Rs 15,42,20,989, Bottling Fee amounting to Rs 92,90,97,343, COVID Cess amounting to Rs 1.69,78,53,517, Excise Duty amounting to Rs 11,08,66,78,227, Export Fee amounting to Rs 3,81,73,176, Import Fee amounting to Rs 31,31,08,747, Permit Fee amounting to Rs 1,10,88,47,070 and Licence Fee amounting to Rs 21,61,78,30,648 was received up to the second quarter of this Financial Year 2020-21.

Mr Chautala said that a total number of 47 cases have been registered regarding the Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) by the Excise and Taxation Department, for which the state government is expected to receive revenue of around Rs 28 crore in the form of fines.
In addition, 49 cases have been registered regarding Country Liquor (CL) by the Excise and Taxation Department, from which the state government is expected to receive revenue of around Rs 24 crore in the form of fines.
