Ludhiana, November 2

An eight-year-old boy was badly bitten by stray dogs at Tajganj Mohalla near the division number 3 police station.

A resident of the area, Sarabjit Singh, said his nephew Ekam Singh had gone to meet his friend and when he was returning home, five-six stray dogs, who were sitting near his friend’s house, attacked Ekam.

“The dogs badly injured the boy who had around 15-20 wounds on his legs and back of the body. At present, my nephew has been admitted to Christian Medical College and Hospital where he will undergo surgery soon,” he said.

Sarabjit Singh added, “Dogs had also attacked another boy yesterday. There are many stray dogs in the area, but the civic body has not taken any steps to ensure the safety of the residents.”

Meanwhile, a group of residents gathered at the colony to mark their protest in this regard today. — TNS
