Voters polled in favor of SP, claims Akhilesh

Lucknow, Nov 3 (UNI) Samajwadi Party (SP) president Akhilesh Yadav has averred that in the elections held for the seven Assembly seats in Uttar Pradesh, voters have voted in favor of the SP while rejecting the antics of the BJP.

In a statement issued on Tuesday here, Mr Yadav said that the SP's victory has been ensured by the trend of voters. He also praised the voters for exercising their franchise boldly.

He alleged that efforts were made to affect the voters' enthusiasm by rigging in many places. The ruling party has started harassing the voters by getting a signal of its defeat.

The SP president claimed that the ruling party has surpassed all limits of rigging in the elections today. There was a malfunction in the EVM machine at some places, somewhere there was open oppression of SP workers. Many police personnel were seen playing the role of propagandist for the ruling party. The Election Commission has been made aware of all these complaints.

He alleged that according to the information received, over 30 percent voters were denied voting by the Presiding Officer on the pretext of thermal scanning at many polling stations. Polling was disrupted at several polling stations due to malfunctioning of EVMs.

The former UP CM said that one thing is very clear that the arrogance of the ruling party is going to get a befitting reply in these by-elections. This by-election is also important because the voters have used the opportunity to respond to the misuse of power.
