The Joint Association of Colleges (JAC) has rejected the new SC Post-Matric Scholarship Scheme launched by the state government. The JAC said the new education policy was meant for 2020-21.
Implement it this session, says SAD
- The SAD has called CM’s announcement of re-launching the SC scholarship scheme in 2021-22 a farce, alleging he refused to release a single penny from the Rs2,440 cr budgetary provisions for the scheme in last three years.
- The party demanded that the scheme be restarted from the current academic session and all fee backlogs due to SC students be paid to them. TNS
It has demanded release of the pending dues for 2016-17 (Rs 415.60 crore), 2017-18 (Rs 538 crore); 2018-19 (Rs 437.19 crore) and 2019-20 (450 crore), which comes to around Rs 1,850 crore.
The Joint Association of Colleges said out of 1,650 unaided colleges in the state, a majority of them had turned into NPA because of four-year delay in payment of dues and still in the new policy nothing had been mentioned about the pending dues.
