MUMBAI: Police on Monday arrested four Nigerian nationals from Nalasopara and recovered high-grade cocaine worth Rs 1.5 crore from their possession.
Police said that acting on a tip-off that the Nigerian men were to come to Sadhguru Apartments, Pragati Nagar to sell the contraband, a trap was laid.
Those arrested are identified as Aggu Osita (28), Urji Philips (30), Ogona Chukvenene (29) and Chris Chukvenaka (30). They were residing in the same locality. They have been booked under Sections 8 (C) and 21 (C) of the Narcotics Act. A total of 750g cocaine was seized from them.
Of the four men, only one had a valid visa. The others had visas that had long expired. Police said that they will question owners who had rented out their flats to these men, despite not possessing valid visas.
They will be produced before the Vasai sessions court on Tuesday.
