In Puducherry, 70 new cases of coronavirus have been confirmed. In this union territory, no infected person has died in the last 24 hours. Director of Health and Family Welfare S Mohan Kumar said in a release that 2,82000 samples were tested, out of which 7 were confirmed to be infected.
The number of new cases in the state remained below 100 for the second consecutive day. On Sunday, 96 infected were confirmed. Kumar said that 482 patients have been discharged from hospitals in the last 24 hours. Last week, no infected person died in the state for four days. He said that the total infection cases in the state are 35,178
Kumar said that 2,956 patients are undergoing treatment for infection while 31,627 people have become infection-free. He said that the number of people who lost their lives due to infection is 595. The death rate in the state is 1.69 percent and the infection-free rate is 89.91 percent. Kumar said that so far 3.14 lakh samples have been tested.
