Stock market update: MidCap stocks advance; Godrej Properties soars 10%

NEW DELHI: MidCap stocks were trading on a positive note at 02:17PM (IST) on Monday.

Shares of Godrej Properties (up 10.0 per cent), Shriram Transport Finance (up 9.15 per cent), Cholamandalam Investment & Finance (up 7.29 per cent), LIC Housing Finance (up 4.63 per cent) and Aditya Birla Capital Ltd (up 3.94 per cent) were among the top gainers.

While Rajesh Exports (down 3.96 per cent), Emami (down 3.57 per cent), ICICI Securities (down 2.81 per cent), Glaxosmithkline Pharmaceuticals (down 2.81 per cent) and Whirlpool of India (down 2.68 per cent) were the top losers in the index.

The S&P BSE MidCap index was trading 0.36 per cent up at 14959.01 around 02:17PM.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 30.25 points at 11672.65, while the BSE Sensex was up 155.25 points at 39769.32.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 24 were trading in the green, while 25 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, Fortis Health, Bank of Baroda and PNB were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Route Mobile Ltd., Havells India, Tanla Solutions, PI Industries and Adani Green Energy Ltd. hit their fresh 52 week high in today's trade, while 7NR Retail Ltd., Panth Infinity Ltd., A & M Febcon Ltd., Mehai Technology Ltd., Saffron Industries Ltd., Colorchips New Media Ltd., Virgo Global Ltd., Ishaan Infrastructures & Shelters Ltd., Mukta Agriculture Ltd. and Goblin India Ltd. hit fresh 52 week low in trade.
