TO THE EDITOR:
I guess I'm so far behind the times, I could use a tutorial in human resourcing after reading "Liebert's new job has familiar feel" in the Oct. 19 issue.
First of all, I have absolutely nothing against Mr. Carl Liebert. In fact, I might be guilty of envying him.
The article announces his move to run KWx, the newly created holding company for Keller Williams Realty. However, he was fired as CEO of AutoNation, was formerly an executive at USAA, 24 Hour Fitness, Circuit City and General Electric and was a vice president at The Home Depot. He has no experience in real estate, as well as having been a "bad fit" at AutoNation, from where he was ousted with a paltry severance of $4 million. What's his secret?
If there is any company out there desperately looking for a frightfully inexperienced and unqualified CEO, please feel free to contact me.
