Lucknow, Nov 2(UNI) Samajwadi party president Akhilesh Yadav has hit back at the BSP saying that the party had weakened the fight of Dalits, Backwards and even of the higher castes but now it was taking the words like BJP.



"It is unfortunate that SP which is fighting to uproot the BJP , has been supported by BSP president. Now both BJP and BSP wants to defeat SP , which proves their real intention" he said .

Addressing a press conference here during the joining of Ex Congress MP Ms Anu Tandon , Mr Yadav said that his party always sought support of others to defeat BJP, which has weakened the Constitution and the democracy.

" In the last Lok Sabha polls in 2019 , SP and BSP joined hands due to which BJP lost several seats. But now BSP has made an U-turn and they have gone in support of the BJP," he said .

He also quipped on the BSP president for making an statement that she will ensure defeat of the SP candidates in the MLC elections ," We are looking forward to the 2022 assembly polls, but the BSP was just interested in the MLC elections," he said .

To a specific question on SP- BSP parting ways after the Lok Sabha polls, the SP president clarified, " we wanted to go jointly with the ideology of Dr B R Ambedkar and Dr Ram Manohar Lohia. But BSP was only intested in vested interest and did nothing to connect with the people. Instead the BSP had damaged the social cause of dalits, backwards and even the upper caste ."

He, however , claimed that his party's mahagathbandhan with BSP was a big success and it was only in UP that the opposition could dent into the BJP's winning streak .

Mr Yadav severely criticised the Yogi Adityanath government in Uttar Pradesh for its failure in all fields and claimed that the result of the 7 assembly bypolls in the state will showcase how the people of the state are annoyed with the BJP.

Raking up the issue of political implication if opposition leaders with taking the name of Mohammad Azam Khan and Poet Munnawar Rana , he said everyone knows why these people have been made the scale goat .

" Mr Azam Khan is languishing in the jail for the past several months only as he did not succumb to the government pressure while FIR against Mr Rana was made just to keep his mouth shut," he added.

The SP president also said that Covid 19 is likely to surge again but the state government has closed its eyes .
