Srinagar, Oct 31 (UNI) Paying rich tributes to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel on his birth anniversary, Lt Governor of Union Territory (UT) Manoj Sinha on Saturday called upon all the citizens of Jammu and Kashmir, especially youth to strive towards strengthening the unity and integrity of the nation.

Mr Sinha in a message said the Iran Man of India devoted his entire life to the nation and welfare of its people.

He said Sardar Patel's contribution towards paving a strong foundation for united India will always be written in golden letters in the world political history.

On the occasion of Rashtriya Ekta Diwas, I call upon all the citizens of J&K, especially Youth to strive towards strengthening the unity & integrity of the Nation, LG Sinha said.

Srinagar, Oct 31 (UNI) One-way traffic was on Saturday resumed on the national highway after remaining suspended on Friday to allow maintenance of the only all weather road connecting Kashmir valley with the rest of the country.Meanwhile, the historic 86-km-long Mughal road and 434-km-long Srinagar-Leh highway are through for traffic, a traffic police official told UNI this morning.

War against COVID-19: MP’s body count rises to 2,941

Bhopal, Oct 30 (UNI) The fatality figure owing to the ‘millennium scourge’ mounted to 2,941 on Friday in Madhya Pradesh where 12 fresh demises were reported even as the infected tally touched 1,70,690 with 691 more sufferers being detected during analysis of 28,995 specimens.
A Health Services Directorate bulletin pegged the number of active cases at 9,294 – a statistic that is providentially revealing a downward trend. Bhopal continued to have the dubious distinction of spawning the highest 180 new instances; Indore 108; Gwalior 65; Jabalpur 28; Shivpuri 24; Ujjain 20; Ratlam 14; Rewa 13; Dhar, Raisen and Khargone 11 each; Vidisha ten; Balaghat nine; etc. An encouraging fact is that no fresh patient came to light in Tikamgarh and Burhanpur.

The silver lining is that 1,58,455 individuals recuperated; 1,074 on this very day.
