Sheela Foams Q2 operating profits up 48% at Rs89.04cr

Sheela Foams sales dipped sharply in the Jun-20 quarter due to social distancing but the bounce in the Sep-20 quarter has taken their sales above pre-COVID levels

Sheela Foams Sheela Foams reported rise of 22.23% in top line sales for the Sep-20 quarter at Rs607.83cr. While the sales did dip sharply in the Jun-20 quarter due to social distancing, the bounce in the Sep-20 quarter has taken their sales above pre-COVID levels.

The operating profits for the quarter ended Sep-20 was 48.01% higher on a yoy basis at Rs89.04cr. The net profits for the Sep-20 quarter were higher by 18.9% at Rs69.84cr on the back of sharply higher revenues and despite higher tax impact in the quarter.

This had an overall impact on the margins of Sheela Foams. For the Sep-20 quarter, the operating profit margins or OPM was up by 255 bps at 14.65%. Similarly, the net profit margins or NPM actually contracted by 32 bps at 11.49% due to higher tax impact.
