No repolling recommended by observers in 71 seats of first phase Bihar Assembly elections

Patna, Oct 30 (UNI) After scrutiny of feedback received from all 71 seats where polling was held in the first phase of Bihar Assembly elections on October 28, no repolling was recommended by authorities concerned at any polling station.
Sources of office of the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) said here that in accordance with
Election Commission of India (ECI) instructions, General Observers, in presence of candidates, political parties, conducted post-poll scrutiny of all 71 constituencies which had gone for first phase poll in Bihar on October 28.
Observers, after careful scrutiny of records and inputs of candidates, political parties, had concluded that in all 31,371 polling booths in all 71 assembly constituencies spread over 16 districts, poll process was completed peacefully and in accordance with extant statutory instructions, sources added.
In view of the , observers have not recommended any repoll. Simultaneously, Chief Electoral Officer, Bihar, based on inputs of Returning Officers and District Election Officers, has furnished his report and also concluded that no repoll is recommended.
It may be recalled 55.69 per cent voters had voted in the polls which have been described free, fair, peaceful, participative and safe in the midst of COVID-19 pandemic.
In 2015 Bihar Assembly Elections, 54.94 per cent votes were polled, while 2019 Lok Sabha elections, 53.54 per cent votes were polled in these 71 seats.
