“Through the portal, the services of government will be informed to public and a conversation will be initiated between public and government for providing better services. Public opinion on government will be obtained by conducting polls, opinion surveys, articles and so on in the portal,” said Chief Minister, after launching the new portal.

Communication with the new portal can be established through e-mails where public can express their opinions about the already existing schemes and can suggest improvements for the betterment of the schemes. Similarly, public opinion will be obtained for future schemes and necessary changes can be suggested by the public.

Chief Minister, through video conference, also inaugurated 25 continuous ambient air quality monitoring stations setup by state pollution control board at the cost of Rs 45 crore.

The air quality monitory stations will monitor the levels of PM10 parties, PM2.5 particles, sulphur-di-oxide, nitrogen-di-oxide, Ammonia, Ozone, carbon monoxide, Teluvin and zylin once in 15 minutes and the results will be displayed in the electronic boards kept outside the monitoring stations.

Already nine such continuous ambient air quality monitoring stations are functioning in Gummidipundi, Coimbatore, Perundhurai, Thoothukudi and five in Chennai. The 25 new air quality monitoring stations will be setup in 25 districts.
