LUCKNOW: Lucknow University will turn into a science kaleidoscope during its weeklong centenary celebrations.
Each day, a scientist from the premier science institutions of the country will deliver a key lecture during the celebrations from November 20 to 24. The parking ground opposite the physics department will be turned into a science zone, with top scientific institutes of the country setting up their stalls to showcase the latest technologies to the visitors A meeting of all heads and deans held on Thursday finalized the event for the weeklong centenary celebrations from November 19 to 25.
“There will be a science lecture by a renowned scientist on all five days. We have invited 11 leading scientific institutes like the Indian Institute of Toxicology Research, National Botanical Research Institute, and others,” said coordinator, LU centenary science fest, Prof Vibhuti Rai. He said all science departments of LU and their museums will be opened up for the visitors.
LU will organize several events during the centenary extravaganza. These will include heritage walks, sports events, science fests, art festivals, cultural programs, Kavi samelan, and alumni meets. A documentary on the 100-year journey of LU will be the added attraction.
