Bag containing gold, cash stolen from hotel

Ludhiana, October 29

A person stole a bag containing gold and cash during a wedding ceremony at a hotel on the Ferozepur road yesterday. The police have got the CCTV footage of the suspect and started a probe in the matter.

Police Commissioner Rakesh Agrawal said a thief had decamped with a bag which contained gold ornaments and around Rs 20 lakh in cash.

He said teams were formed to trace the suspect.

As per information, within minutes of entering the hotel, the bag of Shashi Kiran, mother of the bridegroom, Rajat, was stolen.

Though she came to know about the theft late, the suspect was seen walking out of the hotel with the bag in the CCTV footage.

The Sarabha Nagar police station registered a case against the unknown person.

The complainant urged the police to trace the suspect and recover the stolen valuables.
