Nagpur: The Nagpur Municipal Corporation employees, who have been relentlessly demanding implementation of the 7th pay commission recommendations, are yet to get dearness allowance for the last 13 weeks. A delegation of NMC employees and teachers met mayor Sandip Joshi and demanded at least four weeks’ DA ahead of the Diwali festival.
Standing committee chairman Vijay Zalke has asked NMC’s accounts and finance department to look into the demand of civic body-run schoolteachers and staff. Zalke admitted that the employees should have received their salaries as per seventh pay commission recommendations.
“We are yet to get any benefit though even small civic bodies like Chandrapur Municipal Corporation have got the nod to implement 7th pay commission for their staff, NMC is still waiting,” Nagpur Mahanagar Palika Shikshak Sangh president Rajesh Gaware said. tnn
