COVID-19: Toll in Bengal rises to 6,784, cases touch 3,69,671

Kolkata, Oct 30 (UNI) The COVID-19 toll in Bengal rose to 6,784 with the death of 59
persons on Friday, while the tally touched 3,69,671 with 3,979 new confirmed cases.
According to the latest State Government Health bulletin, the active cases accounted
for 36,999, while the number of discharged cases stood at 3,25,888.
The percentage of discharged rose to 88.16 per cent.
The bulletin said the total number of samples tested stood at 45,12,270 with 43,774
tested in the past 24 hours.
While the city recorded the highest number of 2190 deaths so far, surrounding districts
of North 24 Parganas and Howrah came second and third respectively with 1559 and 734
fatalities.
South 24 Parganas accounted for 455 deaths, the toll in Hooghly stood at 313, Darjeeling
139, Paschim and Purba Midnapore 206 and 189 respectively, Malda 82, Murshidabad 95,
Nadia 146, Paschim Bardhaman 100, Purba Bardhaman 73,Jalpaiguri 87, Uttar Dinajpur 54,
Dakshin Dinajpur 53, Birbhum 52, Alipurduar 76, Kalimpong 14, Cooch Behar 51, Purulia 28,
Jhargram 11 and Bankura 74.
