Sensex, Nifty maintain upside; Oil stocks witness outperformance ahead of RIL, Indian Oil's Q2 result

RIL, IndusInd Bank, Indian Oil and DLF are some of the major corporate results awaited today.

Indices continue to trade on a positive note during Friday's session. At around 10.29 am, Sensex was trading at 39,858.13 above 108.28 points or 0.27%, while Nifty was performing at 11,716.05 higher by 45.25 points or 0.39%.

On a sectoral basis, BSE Oil & Gas witnessed outperformance surging by nearly 2%, followed by BSE Metal (+1.48%), BSE Power (+1.32%), BSE Realty (+2.04%) and BSE Industrials (+1%).

BSE Midcap and SmallCap indexes advanced by nearly 1% each.

Gaining stocks were - NTPC (+2.26%), Nestle India (+1.95%), Ultratech Cement (+1,63%), ITC (+1.59%) and ONGC (+1.55%).

Underperforming stocks were - Maruti Suzuki (-1.61%), Bajaj Finance (-1.45%), Bharti Airtel (-0.72%), Power Grid (-0.70%) and Titan (-0.70%).

Major corporate results continue to sway investors sentiment. RIL, IndusInd Bank, Indian Oil and DLF are some of the major corporate results awaited today.
