Protesters submit memo

Ludhiana, October 29

A delegation of PAU Employees, including Baldev Singh Walia, Manmohan Singh, Dr Harmit Singh Kingra, Dr DK Sharma, Kamal Singh and Nand Kishore met Anirudh Tiwari, Additional Chief Secretary-cum-Financial Commissioner (Development), Punjab, and submitted memorandum of demands on behalf of employees of the university.

Members of the PAU Employees Union, PAU Teachers Association and PAU Class IV Workers Union had been protesting for the past 17 days.

Baldev Singh Walia, president, PAU Employees’ Union, raised demands such as lowering of experience period for promotion of technical staff, to increase the number of posts of car/jeep drivers supervisors, to implement old pension scheme on employees recruited before 09.07.2012, among others. — TNS
