AGP holds meeting in Dibrugarh

DIBRUGARH: AGP on Thursday held a organisational meeting at its district headquarters in Dibrugarh during which the new executive committee of Dibrugarh district led by newly appointed district president Aditya Goswami took charge.
Addressing party members, AGP general secretary Punakan Baruah said when it comes to seat-sharing arrangements with the BJP, AGP will ask for more seats. AGP MLA and state committee vice-president Naren Sonowal said that the party will demand three seats for contesting from Dibrugarh district and one from Tinsukia district.
In the 2016 assembly election, as a part of the seat-sharing agreement with BJP, AGP was allotted only the Naharkatia seat in Dibrugarh district, which the party went on to win. In Tinsukia district, no seat was provided to AGP.
