Bokaro: A police constable posted at Pachamba police station in Giridih district committed suicide at his quarters in the new police complex on Thursday morning. SDO Ravindra Kumar Sinha and DSP (heaquarters-2) Binod Ravani said Raju Ekka (34) locked himself inside a room and hanged himself when all members of the family were engaged in household chores. They said the body has been sent for post mortem and a probe has been ordered.
Circle officer Ravindra Kumar Sinha said, “We are trying to ascertain the reason for his suicide. According to his family members, he was suffering from depression for the last six months.” Ekka’s colleagues said he was a disciplined cop and had good relations with them. Survived by his wife, a daughter and his mother, Ekka was a native of Kundwa in Barhi police station area in Hazaribag district.
