Modi Tries To Pedal The Rocking Boat of Nitish To Safety!

A fog of despondency seems looming over the NDA in Bihar. Where the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, had to tear through the virtual world to be in Bihar physically to pedal the rocking boat of Nitish Kumar to safety.

The PM, on his part, tried the obvious path to make it appear that, all is well between the NDA and Nitish Kumar. But, the body language of the Bihar CM was far less than the Nitish of five years back, which could not hide the straits of nervousness on his face.

While polling was on in 71 Assembly seats, the timing of the PM`s whistle-stop campaign meetings were undeniably synced to influence voters in those constituencies where the votings were in progress. How was it permissible under the codes of the Election Commission is not known.

Secondly, Modi had to bank on a national issue like `Ramrajya` to outweigh the `Jungleraj` that was ascribed to the era of Lalu Prasad Yadav and now his kins. Was it that the PM was short of developmental issues under Nitish other than the implementation of the center sponsored schemes!

The fear factor in the NDA camp must go a notch higher given the fact that the voters have shrugged the Covid fear and were out there in queues jacking up the polling percentage to almost 54. Turn out of 54 % at this juncture is quite encouraging and resonated for Nitish Kumar to reassess himself.

Voters rallying behind Tejaswi Yadav may not be to paint him clean but, it is surely the anti-incumbency factor that seems saturating in Bihar. Maybe people are in a mood to redefine the political narratives in Bihar for a change.
