Forex, money markets closed on account of Id-E-Milad

Forex and money markets are closed today on account of 'Id-E-Milad ' in India.

The Indian rupee on Thursday fell by 23 paise to settle at 74.10 against the US dollar. At the interbank forex market, the domestic unit opened weak at 74.02 against the greenback, then lost further ground and finally closed at 74.10 against the American currency, showing a fall of 23 paise over its previous close.

Meanwhile, the dollar was down on Friday morning in Asia and the euro hovered near a four-week low against the dollar.

On the international front, the US economy grew at an unrivalled pace in the third quarter. Gross domestic product rebounded at a 33.1% annualized rate last quarter, the Commerce Department said in its advance estimate on Thursday.

On the equity front, the Sensex was trading at 39,858.13 above 108.28 points or 0.27%, while Nifty was performing at 11,716.05 higher by 45.25 points or 0.39%.
