Truck carrying 1080 liquor bottles seized, one held from Nuh

Chandigarh, Oct 30 (UNI) Haryana Police’s strict surveillance and enhanced enforcement led to the seizure of a large consignment of Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) when it was being illegally transported in a truck in Nuh district.

Giving this information here Friday, a Haryana Police spokesperson informed that Police have impounded the truck and seized the 1080 bottles which were packed in 90 cartons.

Upon receiving credible information, a team of Crime Investigation Agency intercepted a truck bearing Rajasthan registration number at a naka near IMT Rojkameo and found 1080 liquor bottles being illegally transported in the district.
Police have also arrested one accused identified as Lateef, a resident of Nuh district. However, four others in the vehicle managed to escape taking advantage of darkness. All would be arrested at the earliest.
Arrested accused failed to produce any license or permit about the seized liquor.

A case under relevant sections of Excise Act was registered against the accused and further investigation into this case has been taken up.
