Covid-19:7K casualty in UP, recovery rate increases to 93.45 pc

Lucknow, Oct 30 (UNI) Covid-19 cases in Uttar Pradesh continued to fall with active cases reported less than the discharged patients for the consecutive seventh week after September 17 peak.
Covid-19 cases in UP have reached 4,80,082 on Friday of which 4,48,644 have recovered and 24,431 were admitted to the hospitals or were in home isolation getting treatment.
Altogether 2237 fresh cases of Covid-19 were reported during the past 24 hours in the state while 2590 people have recovered.
The recovery percentage in the state has also increased to 93.45 per cent which is higher than the national average.
A total of 7007 people lost their lives to the lethal virus with 24 fresh fatalities in the last 24 hours.
State Additional Chief Secretary, Health, Amit Mohan Prasad said, on Friday the number of active patients were decreasing day by day and there was a decrease of 64.2 per cent since September 17 last when the peak was witnessed.
On Thursday, a total of 1,48,222 samples were tested and the total Covid tests in the state has gone up to a record 1,47,17,483.
Mr Prasad said there are 11,278 positive asymptomatic patients in home isolation while 1482 patients were admitted to private hospitals. Rest patients are recovering in the government run Covid hospitals. He said till date 2,70,8978 asymptotic patients preferred for home isolation in which 2,59,619 have recovered.
About 1,49,788 health teams during their surveillance visited 2.80 crore houses to check the health of over 13.79 crore people in the state.
