KALYAN: The police probing the murder of MNS leader Rakesh Patil (32) in their primary probe has found that the murder was a result of dispute over grill work at an under construction housing society in Ambernath.
However MNS leader Avinash Jadhav has blamed city based Patel builder for the murder.
The police, meanwhile, has arrested Vinayak Pille, Akhtar Khan, Vijay Dasi and Raju Dasi, while search for main accused D Mohan and three others was still going on.
Avinash Jadhav, Thane district president of MNS on Thursday visited Ambernath to meet family of Patil. Speaking to media persons, Jadhav blamed Patel builder (Becchar Patel), for whom main accused D Mohan work, to be behind the murder and demanded his arrest.
Jadhav said, "We have come to know that Patil was opposing Patel builder's ongoing project at Javsai area as it had various loopholes due to which he planned to eliminate Patil."
However talking to TOI, Becchar Patel rubbished the allegations saying, "I do not understand why some people are dragging my name in this case for I have a good relation with deceased Rakesh Patil and his family and I am deeply hurt with his murder." Patel said, "Due to my good relation I had taken Patil's land for development purpose."
Patil on Wednesday evening was stabbed to death by six to seven people near Jainam Residency in Pale village situated in Ambernath (East).
Police who arrested four accused in primary probe has found that Patil had managed to get grill work at under construction housing society to which main absconding accused D Mohan was opposing and over same they even had a dispute in the past. The police found that D Mohan has close association with Patel builder against whom allegations have been made.
Vinayak Narale, assistant commissioner of police, Ambernath division of Thane police said, "So far we can say the Patil was murdered due to dispute over grill work but once we arrest D Mohan exact reason behind killing can not be ascertained."
