“to be the voice of the people of Northeast”.

presence pan India, however, its prime focus in Northeast”.
“Being the only national party from Northeast – NPP has been able to garner enough
political weight to make its voice heard loud and clear in Delhi. NPP has clearly filled
the vacuum and has become a strong political voice from Northeast,” Sangma added.
“We believe that there should be a political party that will speak, fight and work for the
people of the Northeast,” asserted Sangma while informing that out of seven political
parties in India, NPP is the only recognised national party from Northeast.

a political party that is going to fight for us, that is going to raise our voice and that is
going to ensure that justice is done when it comes to Northeast”.
“We have so many communities in the region, our leaders are in different political parties.
However, we have not been able to become one voice from the region. NPP is an opportunity
for different communities to come together in a single platform and unitedly fight for Northeast,”
he said, while urging the people to support and work with the NPP and strengthen the party.
Recalling his late father Purno Agitok Sangma, he said, “He (Purno) was instrumental in
shaping me as a leader and his advice not to fight for post or position will always encourage
me to work for the people”.
Terming the former MLA of Wangoi constituency Lukhoi Singh as “selfish”, he said,
“Lukhoi resigned from the post of MLA just to get a ministerial berth”.
