Odisha Assembly to implement National e Vidhan Application

Bhubaneswar,Oct 29 (UNI) Odisha Assembly has received over Rs 1.2 crore from the central government for implementation of National e Vidhan Application (NeVA) to make the entire
work of the state Assembly paperless.
Assembly sources here today said a meeting held under the Chairmanship of Speaker S N
Patro had submitted a Rs12. 52. crore proposal to the Union Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs
for the implementation of NeVA in the state Assembly.
The Parliamentary Affairs department has approved Rs 8,52,36,642 for the project and
released. Rs 1,2,96,408 towards its first instalment.
The WIFi, local on network, video conferencing had already been completed and other allied
works are going on a fast pace,sources said .
In the first phase only Odisha and Punjab have implemented the programme in the country.
NeVA is a Mission Mode Project under the Digital India Programme.
The Union Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs is the nodal Ministry for the implementation of
the programme in all the 31 states/union territories in the country with legislature.
While the central government will bear 60 percent of the expenditure, the state government
will have to provide 40 per cent of the expenditure for the implementation of the programme.
After three years the state government will have to bear the entire expenditure required for
running the programme including maintenance and replacement of equipment.
